First Days of Clinic

Our first day of clinic went wonderfully. We were at the village of Ha Nkoknana and saw over 200 paitents.
The gospel was shared. Children were loved on. Women learned how to help their choking babies. Successful first day in clinic.

We set up at a school and the school children were still there. So there was no shortage of kids to play with.
For those who are here for the first time this year, it was a great eye opener to the illnesses the basotho live with.

The following day, on Wednesday, the team traveled to the village of Sephareng. The is River Oak's village. As a church we have commited to prayer for this village. JB, an IMB missionary, had the opportunity to lead a woman to Christ is Sephareng.

Dr Cerniway and Christy had the chance to operate on over 6 patients yesterday, removing teeth that were causing pain. Those people will be in less pain because of the dental care they receieved.

Today, The team travelled by ponies to the village of Fukumela. This village is unreachable by car.
The team saw over 100 patients today and more malnourished children than we have seen thus far. Dr Cerniway and Christy pulled out 29 teeth today.
There was not enough time to see everyone today. One man has walked over 7 hours the past 2 days to see Dr Cerniway and was still unable to see him due to the large number of patients today and the short amount of time we had in the village. This man will be at the top of the list for tomorrow's clinic.
A young girl came today to see Me Teresa to be treated for a stomach ache with her younger sister. When Me Teresa asked where their mother was, the girl told her their mother had died last year. This 11 year old girl is now the mother figure in her house and takes care of her two younger siblings, she is required to cook and clean, wash the laundry.
Lesotho has one of the highest orphan rates in the world.

These are just a couple of the sad stories of the Basotho.

Continue praying! Pray for their open hearts as they hear the gospel, and pray for our medical team as the provide care.
Tomorrow we will be going the village of Ha Rapooea.
